Health and Safety Services
EHSS industrial hygienists are committed to protecting the health and safety of people in the workplace and the community. Industrial hygienists anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and assist in preventing and controlling environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort among workers or among citizens of the community. EHSS industrial hygienists advise, administer, supervise, manage and conduct professional and scientific work in a variety of industrial settings. This includes the identification and evaluation of conditions affecting the health, safety and efficiency of employees or the public, the formulation and recommendation of measures to eliminate, reduce or control occupational health hazards, and the promotion of occupational health programs for instructing and motivating managers and employees in the identification and prevention of potential health hazards.
